ܘܠܐܚܒ ܫܒܥܝܢ ܒ̈ܢܝܢ ܐܝܬ ܗܘܘ ܒܫܡܪܝܢ. ܘܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܐ ܕܩܪܝܬܐ ܡܪܒܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܗܘܢ ܘܟܬܒ ܝܗܘ ܐܝܓܪܬܐ ܘܫܕܪ ܠܫܡܪܝܢ ܠܘܬ ܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܐ ܘܠܘܬ ܣܒ̈ܐ ܘܠܘܬ ܬܪ̈ܐܐ ܕܐܚܒ ܠܡܐܡܪ

Now Ahab had seventy sons in Samaria. Jehu wrote letters and sent them to Samaria, to the rulers of Jezreel, even the elders, and to those who brought up Ahab’s sons, saying,

ܒܫܥܬܐ ܕܡܛܝܐ ܐܝܓܪܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܠܘܬܟܘܢ ܘܥܡܟܘܢ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܡܪ̈ܝܟܘܢ ܘܥܡܟܘܢ ܡܪ̈ܟܒܬܐ ܘܪ̈ܟܫܐ ܘܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܥܫܝ̈ܢܬܐ ܘܙܝܢܐ
wzyn' eshynth' wqwry' wrksh' mrkbth' wemkwn mrykwn bny wemkwn lwthkwn hd' 'ygrth' dmTy' bsheth'
“Now as soon as this letter comes to you, since your master’s sons are with you, and you have chariots and horses, a fortified city also, and armor,

ܘܡ̇ܢ ܕܚܙܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܛܒ ܘܫܦܝܪ ܡܢ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܡܪ̈ܝܟܘܢ ܐܘܬܒܘ ܥܠ ܟܘܪܣܝܐ ܕܐܒܘܗܝ ܘܐܬܟܬܫܘ ܥܠ ܒܝܬ ܡܪ̈ܝܟܘܢ
mrykwn byth el w'thkthshw d'bwhy kwrsy' el 'wthbw mrykwn bny mn wshpyr dTb 'nthwn dkhzyn wmn
select the best and fittest of your master’s sons, set him on his father’s throne, and fight for your master’s house.”

ܘܕܚܠܘ ܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܛܒ ܟܕ ܫܡܥܘ ܘܐܡܪܘ ܗܐ ܬܪ̈ܝܢ ܡ̈ܠܟܝܢ ܠܐ ܩܡܘ ܩܕܡܘܗܝ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܢܩܘܡ ܚܢܢ

But they were exceedingly afraid, and said, “Behold, the two kings didn’t stand before him! How then shall we stand?”

ܘܫܠܚ ܪܒܝܬܐ ܘܫܠܝܛܐ ܕܩܪܝܬܐ ܘܣ̈ܒܐ ܘܬܪ̈ܐܐ ܠܝܗܘ ܥܒ̈ܕܝܟ ܚܢܢ ܘܟܠ ܕܐܡܪ ܐܢܬ ܠܢ ܢܥܒܕ ܘܠܐܢܫ ܠܐ ܡܡܠܟܝܢ ܚܢܢ ܥܠܝܢ ܟܠ ܕܫܦܝܪ ܒܥܝܢ̈ܝܟ ܥܒܕ
ebd beynyk dshpyr kl elyn khnn mmlkyn l' wl'nsh nebd ln 'nth d'mr wkl khnn ebdyk lyhw wthr'' wsb' dqryth' wshlyT' rbyth' wshlkh
He who was over the household, and he who was over the city, the elders also, and those who raised the children, sent to Jehu, saying, “We are your servants, and will do all that you ask us. We will not make any man king. You do that which is good in your eyes.”

ܘܟܬܒ ܠܗܘܢ ܐܝܓܪܬܐ ܕܬܪ̈ܬܝܢ ܙܒ̈ܢܝܢ ܘܐܡܪ ܐܢ ܕܝܠܝ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܠܩܠܝ ܫܡܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܣܒܘ ܪ̈ܝܫܐ ܕܒܢܝ̈ ܡܪ̈ܝܟܘܢ ܘܐܝܬܘ ܠܝ ܡܚܪ ܠܗܢܐ ܥܕܢܐ ܠܐܝܙܪܥܝܠ ܘܒܢ̈ܝ ܡܠܟܐ ܗܘܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܫܒܥܝܢ ܓܒܪ̈ܝܢ ܘܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܐ ܕܩܪܝܬܐ ܡܪܒܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܗܘܢ

Then he wrote a letter the second time to them, saying, “If you are on my side, and if you will listen to my voice, take the heads of the men who are your master’s sons, and come to me to Jezreel by tomorrow this time.” Now the king’s sons, being seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, who brought them up.

ܘܟܕ ܡܛܬ ܐܝܓܪܬܐ ܕܒܪܘ ܠܒ̈ܢܘܗܝ ܕܡܠܟܐ ܘܢܟܣܘ ܐܢܘܢ ܫܒܥܝܢ ܓܒܪ̈ܝܢ ܘܣܡܘ ܪ̈ܝܫܝܗܘܢ ܒܡܣ̈ܢܐ ܘܫܕܪܘ ܠܗ ܠܐܝܙܪܥܝܠ
l'yzreyl lh wshdrw bmsn' ryshyhwn wsmw gbryn shbeyn 'nwn wnksw dmlk' lbnwhy dbrw 'ygrth' mTth wkd
When the letter came to them, they took the king’s sons and killed them, even seventy people, and put their heads in baskets, and sent them to him to Jezreel.

ܘܐܬܐ ܐܝܙܓܕܐ ܘܚܘܝܗ ܘܐܡܪ ܐܝܬܝܘ ܪ̈ܝܫܐ ܕܒ̈ܢܝ ܡܠܟܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܟܫܘ ܐܢܘܢ ܬܪ̈ܬܝܢ ܟܫ̈ܝܢ ܒܡܥܠܢܐ ܕܬܪܥܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܨܦܪܐ
ltspr' edm' dthre' bmeln' kshyn thrthyn 'nwn kshw w'mr mlk' dbny rysh' 'ythyw w'mr wkhwyh 'yzgd' w'th'
A messenger came and told him, “They have brought the heads of the king’s sons.” He said, “Lay them in two heaps at the entrance of the gate until the morning.”

ܘܢܦܩ ܒܨܦܪܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܟܠܗ ܥܡܐ ܙܕܝܩܝ̈ܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ. ܐܢ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܕܬ ܥܠ ܡܪܝ ܘܩܛܠܬܗ ܡ̇ܢ ܩܛܠ ܠܗܠܝܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ

In the morning, he went out and stood, and said to all the people, “You are righteous. Behold, I conspired against my master and killed him, but who killed all these?

ܕܥܘ ܡܟܝܠ ܕܠܐ ܢܦܠ ܡܢ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ. ܡܢ ܟܠ ܕܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܥܠ ܒܝܬܗ ܕܐܚܒ ܘܡܪܝܐ ܥܒܕ ܡܕܡ ܕܡܠܠ ܒܐܝܕܐ ܕܥܒܕܗ ܐܠܝܐ
'ly' debdh b'yd' dmll mdm ebd wmry' d'khb bythh el mry' d'mr kl mn 're' el dmry' pthgmh mn npl dl' mkyl dew
Know now that nothing will fall to the earth of Yahweh’s word, which Yahweh spoke concerning Ahab’s house. For Yahweh has done that which he spoke by his servant Elijah.”

ܘܚܪܒ ܝܗܘ ܠܟܠ ܕܐܫܬܟܚ ܠܒܝܬ ܐܚܒ ܒܐܝܙܪܥܝܠ ܘܟܘܠ ܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܘܗܝ ܘܩܪ̈ܝܒܘܗܝ ܘܟܘܡܪ̈ܘܗܝ ܘܠܐ ܫܒܩ ܠܗ ܣܪܝܕܐ

So Jehu struck all that remained of Ahab’s house in Jezreel, with all his great men, his familiar friends, and his priests, until he left him no one remaining.

ܘܩܡ ܐܙܠ ܘܥܠ ܠܫܡܪܝܢ ܘܗܘ ܥܩܪ ܗܘܐ ܥ̈ܠܘܬܐ ܕܒܐܘܪܚܐ

He arose and departed, and went to Samaria. As he was at the shearing house of the shepherds on the way,

ܘܝܗܘ ܐܫܟܚ ܠܐܚ̈ܘܗܝ ܕܐܚܙܝܐ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܡ̇ܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܐ̈ܚܘܗܝ ܚܢܢ ܕܐܚܙܝܐ ܘܢܚܬܢ ܠܫܠܡܐ ܕܒܢ̈ܝ ܡܠܟܐ ܘܕܒܢ̈ܝ ܡܠܟܬܐ

Jehu met with the brothers of Ahaziah king of Judah, and said, “Who are you?” They answered, “We are the brothers of Ahaziah. We are going down to greet the children of the king and the children of the queen.”

ܘܐܡܪ. ܐܚܘܕܘ ܐܢܘܢ ܟܕ ܚ̈ܝܝܢ ܘܐܚܕܘ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܢܟܣܘ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܫܕܘ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܓܘܒܐ ܐܪ̈ܒܥܝܢ ܘܬܪ̈ܝܢ ܓܒܪ̈ܝܢ ܘܠܐ ܫܒܩ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܐܢܫ
'nsh mnhwn shbq wl' gbryn wthryn 'rbeyn bgwb' 'nwn wshdw 'nwn wnksw 'nwn w'khdw khyyn kd 'nwn 'khwdw w'mr
He said, “Take them alive!” They took them alive, and killed them at the pit of the shearing house, even forty-two men. He didn’t leave any of them.

ܘܐܙܠ ܡܢ ܬܡܢ ܘܐܫܟܚ ܠܝܘܢܕܒ ܒܪ ܪܟܒ ܟܕ ܐܬܐ ܠܐܘܪܥܗ ܘܒܪܟܗ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܐܝܬ ܒܠܒܟ ܬܪܝܨܘܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܒܠܒܝ ܥܡ ܠܒܟ ܘܐܡܪ ܝܘܢܕܒ ܐܝܬ ܘܐܝܬ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܗܒ ܐܝܕܟ ܘܝܗܒ ܐܝܕܗ ܘܐܣܩܗ ܠܘܬܗ ܠܡܪܟܒܬܐ

When he had departed from there, he met Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him. He greeted him, and said to him, “Is your heart right, as my heart is with your heart?” Jehonadab answered, “It is.” “If it is, give me your hand.” He gave him his hand; and he took him up to him into the chariot.

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܬܐ ܥܡܝ ܘܚܙܝ ܟܕ ܛܐܢ ܐܢܐ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܘܐܘܬܒܗ ܥܡܗ ܒܡܪܟܒܬܐ
bmrkbth' emh w'wthbh lmry' 'n' T'n kd wkhzy emy th' lh w'mr
He said, “Come with me, and see my zeal for Yahweh.” So they made him ride in his chariot.

ܘܥܠ ܠܫܡܪܝܢ ܘܚܪܒ ܠܟܠ ܕܐܫܬܟܚ ܒܒܝܬܗ ܕܐܚܒ ܒܫܡܪܝܢ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܐܘܒܕ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܕܐܡܪ ܐܠܝܐ
'ly' d'mr dmry' pthgmh 'yk 'nwn d'wbd edm' bshmryn d'khb bbythh d'shthkkh lkl wkhrb lshmryn wel
When he came to Samaria, he struck all who remained to Ahab in Samaria, until he had destroyed them, according to Yahweh’s word which he spoke to Elijah.

ܘܟܢܫ ܝܗܘ ܠܟܠܗ ܥܡܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܐܚܒ ܦܠܚ ܠܒܥܠܐ ܩܠܝܠ ܝܗܘ ܢܦܠܚܝܘܗܝ ܣܓܝ
sgy nplkhywhy yhw qlyl lbel' plkh 'khb lhwn w'mr em' lklh yhw wknsh
Jehu gathered all the people together, and said to them, “Ahab served Baal a little, but Jehu will serve him much.

ܘܗܫܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܢܒ̈ܝܐ ܕܒܥܠܐ ܘܟܠܗܘܢ ܟܘܡܪ̈ܘܗܝ ܘܟܠܗܘܢ ܦ̈ܠܚܘܗܝ ܙܡܢܘ ܠܝ ܘܐܢܫ ܠܐ ܢܛܥܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܕܒܚܬܐ ܪܒܬܐ ܥܒܕ ܐܢܐ ܠܒܥܠܐ ܘܟܠ ܡ̇ܢ ܕܢܛܥܐ ܠܐ ܢܚܐ ܘܝܗܘ ܥܒܕܗ ܒܢܟܠܐ ܕܢܘܒܕ ܠܦ̈ܠܚܘܗܝ ܕܒܥܠܐ

Now therefore call to me all the prophets of Baal, all of his worshipers, and all of his priests. Let no one be absent, for I have a great sacrifice to Baal. Whoever is absent, he shall not live.” But Jehu did deceptively, intending to destroy the worshipers of Baal.

ܘܐܡܪ ܝܗܘ ܙܡܢܘ ܠܟܠܗ ܟܢܫܐ ܠܒܥܠܐ ܘܙܡܢܘ

Jehu said, “Sanctify a solemn assembly for Baal!” So they proclaimed it.

ܘܫܕܪ ܝܗܘ ܥܠ ܟܠܗ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܐܬܘ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܦܠܚ̈ܘܗܝ ܕܒܥܠܐ ܘܠܐ ܐܫܬܚܪ ܐܢܫ ܕܠܐ ܐܬܐ ܘܥܠܘ ܠܒܝܬ ܒܥܠܐ ܘܐܬܡܠܝ ܒܝܬ ܒܥܠܐ ܣܦܐ ܒܣܦܐ
bsp' sp' bel' byth w'thmly bel' lbyth welw 'th' dl' 'nsh 'shthkhr wl' dbel' plkhwhy klhwn w'thw 'ysryl klh el yhw wshdr
Jehu sent through all Israel; and all the worshipers of Baal came, so that there was not a man left that didn’t come. They came into the house of Baal; and the house of Baal was filled from one end to another.

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܓܙܒܪܐ ܐܦܩ ܠܒ̈ܘܫܐ ܠܟܠܗܘܢ
lklhwn lbwsh' 'pq lgzbr' w'mr
He said to him who kept the wardrobe, “Bring out robes for all the worshipers of Baal!” So he brought robes out to them.

ܘܥܠ ܝܗܘ ܘܝܘܢܕܒ ܒܪ ܪܟܒ ܠܒܝܬ ܒܥܠܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܝܗܘ ܠܦ̈ܠܚܘܗܝ ܕܒܥܠܐ ܒܨܘ ܘܚܙܘ ܕܠܡܐ ܐܝܬ ܥܡܟܘܢ ܗܪܟܐ ܡܢ ܥܒ̈ܕܘܗܝ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܐ ܐܢ ܦܠܚ̈ܘܗܝ ܕܒܥܠܐ ܒܠܚܘܕܝܗܘܢ
blkhwdyhwn dbel' plkhwhy 'n 'l' dmry' ebdwhy mn hrk' emkwn 'yth dlm' wkhzw btsw dbel' lplkhwhy yhw w'mr bel' lbyth rkb br wywndb yhw wel
Jehu went with Jehonadab the son of Rechab into the house of Baal. Then he said to the worshipers of Baal, “Search, and see that none of the servants of Yahweh are here with you, but only the worshipers of Baal.”

ܘܥܠܘ ܠܡܥܒܕ ܕܒܚ̈ܐ ܘܥ̈ܠܘܬܐ ܘܝܗܘ ܐܩܝܡ ܠܗ ܡܢ ܠܒܪ ܥܠ ܬܪܥܐ ܬܠܬܡܐܐ ܘܬܡܢܐܝܢ ܓܒܪ̈ܝܢ ܘܐܡܪ ܓܒܪܐ ܕܡܬܦܠܛ ܡܢ ܐܢܫܐ ܕܡܫܠܡ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܢܦܫܗ ܚܠܦ ܢܦܫܗ

So they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings. Now Jehu had appointed for himself eighty men outside, and said, “If any of the men whom I bring into your hands escape, he who lets him go, his life shall be for the life of him.”

ܘܟܕ ܓܡܪܘ ܠܡܥܒܕ ܕܒܚ̈ܐ ܘܥ̈ܠܘܬܐ ܐܡܪ ܝܗܘ ܠܪ̈ܗܛܐ ܘܠܓܢܒܪ̈ܐ ܥܘܠܘ ܚܪܘܒܘ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܐܢܫ ܠܐ ܢܦܘܩ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܘܚܪܒܘ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܦܘܡܐ ܕܣܝܦܐ ܘܐܪܡܝܘ ܐܢܘܢ ܪ̈ܗܛܐ ܘܓܢܒܪ̈ܐ ܘܐܙܠܘ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܩܪܝܬܐ ܕܒܝܬ ܒܥܠܐ

As soon as he had finished offering the burnt offering, Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, “Go in and kill them! Let no one escape.” So they struck them with the edge of the sword. The guard and the captains threw the bodies out, and went to the inner shrine of the house of Baal.

ܘܐܦܩܘ ܩܝܡܬܐ ܕܒܝܬ ܒܥܠܐ ܘܐܘܩܕܘܗ ܒܢܘܪܐ

They brought out the pillars that were in the house of Baal and burned them.

ܘܥܩܪ ܩܝܡܬܐ ܕܒܥܠܐ ܘܥܩܪܘܗܝ ܠܒܝܬ ܒܥܠܐ ܘܥܒܕܘܗܝ ܒܝܬ ܡܚܪܝܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܝܘܡܢܐ
lywmn' edm' mkhry' byth webdwhy bel' lbyth weqrwhy dbel' qymth' weqr
They broke down the pillar of Baal, and broke down the house of Baal, and made it a latrine, to this day.

ܘܐܘܒܕ ܝܗܘ ܠܒܥܠܐ ܡܢ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ
'ysryl mn lbel' yhw w'wbd
Thus Jehu destroyed Baal out of Israel.

ܒܠܚܘܕ ܒܚ̈ܛܗܘܗܝ ܕܝܘܪܒܥܡ ܒܪ ܢܒܛ ܕܐܚܛܝ ܠܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܠܐ ܣܛܐ ܝܗܘ ܡܢ ܒܬܪܗܘܢ ܕܥ̈ܓܠܐ ܕܕܗܒܐ ܕܒܒܝܬ ܐܝܠ ܘܕܒܕܢ
wdbdn 'yl dbbyth ddhb' degl' bthrhwn mn yhw sT' wl' l'ysryl d'khTy nbT br dywrbem bkhThwhy blkhwd
However, Jehu didn’t depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin—the golden calves that were in Bethel and that were in Dan.

ܘܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܝܗܘ ܚܠܦ ܕܥܒܕܬ ܕܫܦܝܪ ܩܕܡܝ ܘܟܠ ܕܒܠܒܝ ܥܒܕܬ ܠܒܝܬ ܐܚܒ ܒ̈ܢܝܐ ܪ̈ܒܝܥܝܐ ܢܬܒܘܢ ܠܟ ܥܠ ܟܘܪܣܝܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ
d'ysryl kwrsy' el lk nthbwn rbyey' bny' 'khb lbyth ebdth dblby wkl qdmy dshpyr debdth khlp lyhw mry' w'mr
Yahweh said to Jehu, “Because you have done well in executing that which is right in my eyes, and have done to Ahab’s house according to all that was in my heart, your descendants shall sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation.”

ܘܝܗܘ ܠܐ ܢܛܪ ܠܡܗܠܟܘ ܒܢܡܘܣܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܡܢ ܟܠܗ ܠܒܗ ܘܠܐ ܣܛܐ ܡܢ ܚ̈ܛܗܘܗܝ ܕܝܘܪܒܥܡ ܒܪ ܢܒܛ ܕܐܚܛܝ ܠܐܝܣܪܝܠ

But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of Yahweh, the God of Israel, with all his heart. He didn’t depart from the sins of Jeroboam, with which he made Israel to sin.

In those days Yahweh began to cut away parts of Israel; and Hazael struck them in all the borders of Israel

ܡܢ ܝܘܪܕܢܢ ܡܢ ܡܕܢܚ̈ܝ ܫܡܫܐ ܘܟܠܗ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܓܠܥܕ ܘܕܓܕ ܘܕܪܘܒܝܠ ܘܕܡܢܫܐ ܡܢ ܥܕܘܥܝܪ ܕܥܠ ܣܦܬܐ ܕܢܚܠܐ ܕܐܪܢܘܢ ܘܓܠܥܕ ܘܡܬܢܝܢ
wmthnyn wgled d'rnwn dnkhl' spth' del edweyr mn wdmnsh' wdrwbyl wdgd dgled 're' wklh shmsh' mdnkhy mn ywrdnn mn
from the Jordan eastward, all the land of Gilead, the Gadites, and the Reubenites, and the Manassites, from Aroer, which is by the valley of the Arnon, even Gilead and Bashan.

Now the rest of the acts of Jehu, and all that he did, and all his might, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

ܘܫܟܒ ܝܗܘ ܥܡ ܐ̈ܒܗܘܗܝ ܘܩܒܪܘܗܝ ܒܫܡܪܝܢ ܘܐܡܠܟ ܝܗܘܐܚܙ ܒܪܗ ܒܬܪܗ

Jehu slept with his fathers; and they buried him in Samaria. Jehoahaz his son reigned in his place.

ܘܝܘܡ̈ܬܐ ܕܐܡܠܟ ܝܗܘ ܥܠ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܥܣܪ̈ܝܢ ܘܬܡܢܐ ܫ̈ܢܝܢ ܒܫܡܪܝܢ

The time that Jehu reigned over Israel in Samaria was twenty-eight years.
